The City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, Bureau of Sanitation (Bureau) was directed to evaluate the method in which private solid waste haulers operate in the City.  In 2011, the Bureau held a series of stakeholder meetings to gather input from interested parties.   A summary of the comments gathered through the stakeholder process as well as copies of all the comments received are posted on the Bureau’s web site at  Also posted is the Solid Waste Franchise Assessment report prepared by HF&H Consultants.

The Bureau is preparing a report detailing its findings and associated recommendations.  The Bureau will present its report first to the Board of Public Works for consideration.  This item is tentatively scheduled to be presented to the Board of Public Works on February 13, 2012.  Please visit the Board of Public Works web site at for a copy of the Board Agenda.
